Damián Márquez was born and raised in Mexico City. For as long as he can remember he has been inspired and motivated by clothes and fashion. Professionally, Damián's career has taken him from his beginnings as a pattern cutter for the Mexican fashion designer, Miguel Garcia, to international success as a fashion designer in his own right with an increasing reputation for producing exciting, innovative, trendy designs.
Damián has designed and made garments for some of Mexico's most prestigious celebrities from the worlds of popular music, fashion and television.
Motivated by the desire to participate and learn more about the world of european fashion, Damián relocated to the UK where he currently lives and works. He established a bespoke tailoring shop in the upmarket neighbourhood of Harborne in Birmingham. As a result of the quality and variety of his work, his clientele and reputation swiftly increased and he has established a vibrant, friendly accommodating fashion and tailoring business. Additionally, he designs and produces bridal garments, and has designed and produced costumes for several modern ballet companies including David Massingham's Dance Exchange Group.
In 2009 Damián launched his own fashion label with shows in Costa Rica, London and Birmingham featuring his menswear collections.
Damián remains resolute in his fashion principles. He is extremely interested in colour and textures in materials and is continually experimenting with these to produce unusual, distinctive, high-quality garments that appeal to those men who wish to look original, striking and up-to-date. Damián intentionally ignores distinctions traditionally associated with gender, to produce interesting, contrasting juxtapositions in his designs. His garments, although both daring and unusual, are comfortable, wearable and above all fashionable and stylish.
